Congratulations to the 1998 Langley Little League team for being inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame!

Langley’s 1998 Little League team has carved its place in sports history.

Langley’s boys of Summer capped a record-setting three month run, starting with wins at the Districts, Provincials and Canadians in Cape Breton to become the first Langley team to ever qualify for the Little League World Series, which was held in Pennsylvania that year. They had three straight wins at the World Series before a double extra inning 3 to 2 loss against Japan in the international final.

The 1998 trip wasn’t the first time at the Little League World Series. They went a total of three times between 1998 and 2001, finishing third second and fifth respectively.

The inductees were announced October 25, 2023 at the hall, located in BC Place Stadium .

They only induct one team per year and not only are they the first youth team to be inducted they are also the first baseball team to ever be inducted in the BC Sports Hall of Fame 67 year history.

Way to go!!!
