OPENING DAY IS MARCH 27 !

Opening day is coming up fast:  Saturday, March 27.    We plan a fun day for all players and parents.  Watch the website and your inbox for details.

There have been some changes at Langley Baseball.   Neil Billows has resigned as President and Vice-President and Chief Umpire Dan McLaren has stepped up to the plate.

Another change is the realignment of the 9 to 12 year-old age division.   This year Langley Baseball will be running a 9-12 year old division consisting of a 11/12 year old Tier One Majors division, a 10/11/12 Tier Two Majors division and a 9/10/11 year old minors division.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding this please contact any Board member.  This change was made by the Board in November of 2009 and detailed in the minutes of that meeting.

We no longer require a volunteer deposit in our league.   But, of course, we still expect parents to volunteer.   Probably the most important volunteers are the Team Mums.     Langley Baseball will once again host a gathering for Team Mums - it was a fun evening last year and we look forward to doing it again.

Field work is also very important - the fields must be set up and taken down for every game and every parent is expected to help.      We  plan to have some work bees before the season opens to repair winter damage, and during the season (probably Friday evenings)  to keep the diamonds in good condition.

Monday evenings will be Clinic evenings for the whole league - we will not schedule any games for Monday evenings during the regular season.    These clinics will be open to all players, and we hope everyone takes advantage of the opportunity.

We will have a "concession work bee" on Saturday March 13th at 10:00 am.  We need people to remove some wall cabinets, put shelves up in their place, move the two freezers and do a little painting. Most importantly, we need a certified electrician to check ALL the electrical to ensure everything is safe.   Anyone willing to volunteer, please email the Concession Manager, Melinda Woznesensky:  concession@langleybaseball.ca.

Photo day is scheduled for May 1.   All photos will be taken in Blacklock Gym.
